Child Safeguarding Policy
The Buxton Musical Society consists of an adult choir which rehearses regularly and gives several public performances per year. Most performances are accompanied by an orchestra.
Occasionally young performers (i.e. under 18) take part in concerts e.g. a school choir or young soloists. In virtually all such cases the young performers are accompanied by suitably qualified responsible adults.
In any other cases where young performers are involved either as a member of the orchestra or choir, a member of the orchestra or choir as the case may be with relevant safeguarding training will be nominated to take responsibility for the young performer and report to a member of the committee if any issue arises.
