Your turn to perform in the Buxton International Festival
For the first time in its history, festival goers are invited to take part in a Festival performance. Haydn's The Creation will be rehearsed and performed with full orchestra and soloists from the Festival Company in a day. The morning session for the chorus will be led by Jack Apperley, an assistant chorus director with the London Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Singers taking part in this project will be expected to have some working knowledge of the choruses and Jack will 'polish' this up and give an insight into the work.
In the afternoon, there will be a full rehearsal with the orchestra and soloists led by Michael Williams MBE, who will conduct the evening's performance.
Full details of the timing and organisation of the day will be sent to successful applicants in May.
